The Marina Cowl is an accessory featured in The Sun & Fog Winter 2021 collection, a group of knit and crochet designs created by Bay Area local designers and dyers. This particular winter collection is meant to inspire makers to create a little something special for themselves after the holiday rush. This is a sideways knit cowl featuring simple lace and icord edging. An offset wavy lace pattern is worked across the cowl, mimicking the undulating waves of the Pacific Ocean. The cowl is knit flat sideways beginning with a provisional cast on and ending with the Three-Needle Bind-Off technique to connect the two ends. Two sizes are included in the pattern: one, a small single loop for a close fit, and two, a longer circle meant to wrap around the neck. The pattern instructions include details for working the lace, icords, provisional cast-on and Three-Needle Bind-Off techniques used in the pattern.
Note: If you prefer not to use Ravelry, you will be able to contact the designer with your download code and be sent the pattern via a different method.

Every skein is dyed with professional acid dyes and with a lot of love and care! I use a variety of techniques to get unique colorways. One of the beauties of hand-dyed yarn is that each skein will be slightly unique - some may have more speckles, some a little more concentration of a color. While I do use specially crafted formulas to keep colorways as consistent as possible, no two skeins will be exactly the same. I recommend that you alternate skeins every couple of rows when using more than one skein of the same colorway. If you order multiple skeins, I will do my best to match them as best I can.
Please note that while I always try my best capture the colors correctly when photographing, with different monitors colors can vary greatly in appearance. I am the sole owner and dyer at Speckled Finch Studios and only dye in small batches.
Recommended care: hand wash in cool water and lay flat to dry.
**Regarding Gauge: Please note that gauge varies depending on the knitter, needle size and project. Please make sure to do a gauge swatch when knitting a pattern. Additional gauge and suggested needle info can be found at the Craft Yarn Council here.
