The Eureka Valley Shawl by Yvonne Poon is part of the new Sun and Fog Collection - a collaboration between Northern California Bay Area knit and crochet designers and yarn dyers. I'm thrilled to be participating and to have provided the yarn for Yvonne's beautiful design. The Eureka Valley Shawl is an asymmetrical triangular shawl worked in stockinette and lace.  The sample in the photo was knit in the Twilight Forest & Bouquet Garni colorway combo.

Kit includes:

  • 2 x 100g skeins of Cushy Merino in coordinating colorways
  • Download code for the Eureka Valley Shawl pattern by Yvonne Poon

This listing is for dyed-to-order yarn and it will take approximately 2-3 weeks for dyeing and shipment. Please purchase dyed-to-order yarn separately from other items as otherwise, additional items purchased will be held until dyed-to-order items are ready for shipment.

Make sure to follow @sunandfog on Instagram to learn more about upcoming KAL/CAL.  Completed projects from the Sun and Fog Collection will also get you entries for prizes of the upcoming Bay Area Fiber Fair - another exciting collaboration of small local fiber arts businesses!

The pattern has the option of adding beads to the lace section.  Please note that beads are not included in these kits.

    Cushy Merino
    Fingering Weight
    3 Ply
    100% SW Merino Wool
    490 yards / 100 grams per skein

Every skein is dyed with professional acid dyes and with a lot of love and care!  I use a variety of techniques to get unique colorways. One of the beauties of hand-dyed yarn is that each skein will be slightly unique - some may have more speckles, some  a little more concentration of a color.  While I do use specially crafted formulas to keep colorways as consistent as possible, no two skeins will be exactly the same. I recommend that you alternate skeins every couple of rows when using more than one skein of the same colorway. If you order multiple skeins, I will do my best to match them as best I can.

Please note that while I always try my best capture the colors correctly when photographing, with different monitors colors can vary greatly in appearance. I am the sole owner and dyer at Speckled Finch Studios and only dye in small batches.

Recommended care:  hand wash in cool water and lay flat to dry.

**Regarding Gauge: Please note that gauge varies depending on the knitter, needle size and project.  Please make sure to do a gauge swatch when knitting a pattern.  Additional gauge and suggested needle info can be found at the Craft Yarn Council here.
