"The coldest winter was a summer spent in San Francisco." ~ Mark Twain
Our San Francisco summers are often accompanied by grey skies and cooler temperatures. Where I live (out near the beach) the dunes and front gardens are peppered with ice plants with bright pink flowers - a welcome pop of color!
Join in the summer fun with the limited addition Summer Sock Set Collection! These Sock Sets are offered in two sizes:
- Sweet Summer Sock Sets include one 50g skein and one 20g mini skein - just the perfect amount and combo to knit a pair of socks with contrasting heels and toes!
- Super Summer Sock Sets include one 100g skein and one 20g mini skein - great for larger/longer socks with a pop of contrasting color for heels and toes!
Both sizes would also be great additions to a shawl or sweater!
Two new Summer Sock Set colorway combos from the Collection will be introduced during the shop update each week over a few weeks - beginning Saturday, July 10th. Please note that this collection will be offered for a limited time only and will have a small number of sets dyed in each colorway combo.
Sweet Summer Sock Set
50 grams skein (231 yards) + 20 grams (92 yards) mini skein
Super Summer Sock Set
100 grams skein (463 yards) + 20 grams (92 yards) mini skein
75% SW Merino Wool / 25% Nylon
Every skein is dyed with professional acid dyes and with a lot of love and care! I use a variety of techniques to get unique colorways. One of the beauties of hand-dyed yarn is that each skein will be slightly unique - some may have more speckles, some a little more concentration of a color. While I do use specially crafted formulas to keep colorways as consistent as possible, no two skeins will be exactly the same. I recommend that you alternate skeins every couple of rows when using more than one skein of the same colorway. If you order multiple skeins, I will do my best to match them as best I can.
Please note that while I always try my best capture the colors correctly when photographing, with different monitors colors can vary greatly in appearance. I am the sole owner and dyer at Speckled Finch Studios and only dye in small batches.
Recommended care: hand wash in cool water and lay flat to dry.
**Regarding Gauge: Please note that gauge varies depending on the knitter, needle size and project. Please make sure to do a gauge swatch when knitting a pattern. Additional gauge and suggested needle info can be found at the Craft Yarn Council here.
